Heartfelt capture
Bring the export.
These are the files the platforms already let you download. Remembered does not connect to your accounts, and it does not ask for a password.
Reading, grouping, and saving happen in this browser. A language model is optional, off by default, and never receives a file.
Drop a zip, JSON, mailbox, or photos
Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Google Takeout, .mbox, .eml, CSV, or pictures named with a date.
What can leave this device
- The archive stays in the browser. Remembered does not upload it.
- No language model key is set. Chapters will be written on this device from your own words.
- If you allow a model, it receives dates, places, people, and short public captions. Not the file.
- Messages and emails are left out of that request unless you turn on the second switch.
The example is a tiny fictional Instagram export, separate from the full sample life, so you can see the real parser.
How to ask each platform for your data
InstagramDownload your information, JSON or HTML, as a zip
- Open Instagram settings, then Accounts Center, then Your information and permissions, then Download your information. Or use the official request page.
- Choose JSON if you can. HTML works too. Pick the date range you want back.
- When the archive arrives, download the zip and drop it here. Remembered never signs in to Instagram.
FacebookDownload your information zip
- Open Facebook settings, then Your Facebook information, then Download your information. The DYI page is the official one.
- Set the date range to All time. Facebook defaults to the last year, which leaves most posts out. JSON or HTML both work. Posts, places, memories, events, and messages are the ones chapters use.
- Download the zip and drop it here. Messages stay hidden inside chapters until you open them.
TikTokuser_data JSON, or the zip TikTok sends
- In TikTok, open Settings and privacy, then Account, then Download your data.
- Request JSON, not only TXT, so captions survive.
- Drop the zip or the user_data file here. Watch history is set aside. Posts, comments, and messages are kept.
Google Takeout and Gmail.mbox from Takeout, or a single .eml
- Open Google Takeout. Deselect all, then choose Mail if you want letters, plus any other export you care about.
- Download the archive. Mail arrives as an .mbox file inside the zip.
- You can also drop a single .eml saved from any mail app. Letter text is treated as private.
Other email.eml or .mbox
- In most mail apps, open a message and choose Save as, then .eml.
- An .mbox is a whole mailbox in one file. Apple Mail and Thunderbird can export one.
- Drop the file here. Subjects and bodies stay on this device unless you explicitly allow a model to see them.
Anything elseZip, JSON, CSV, or dated photos
- A JSON list or a CSV with a date column and a text column will be read as moments.
- Photos named like IMG_20190812 or 2019-08-12 are placed on that day. Undated photos are skipped, and we say so.
- If a file is not a known export, Remembered keeps only what it can date. It does not guess a life you did not record.
